Connect Recharge to Cursor
Add Recharge to Cursor and you can check your allowance or book leave from the editor’s chat. It’s a few lines of config and a browser sign-in.
https://www.getrecharged.co.uk/mcpSet it up
- 1
Copy your Recharge MCP server URL from the box above.
- 2
Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all your projects, or .cursor/mcp.json inside one project, and add Recharge as a remote server.
mcp.json { "mcpServers": { "recharge": { "url": "https://www.getrecharged.co.uk/mcp" } } } - 3
In Cursor’s MCP settings, make sure recharge is switched on. When it asks you to sign in, log in with your Recharge account and approve access.
- 4
Open Cursor’s chat and ask something like “How many holiday days do I have left?”
Then ask
You don’t need special syntax. Cursor works out which Recharge tool to use.
- “How many holiday days do I have left this year?”
- “Do I have any TOIL banked?”
- “Suggest some good dates for a long weekend.”
- “Book next Tuesday off for a hospital appointment.”
- “Is there a clash if I’m off the week of the 12th?”
- “What’s waiting on me to approve? (managers)”
Good to know
- It’s your account, nothing more. You sign in with your normal Recharge login and approve a consent screen. Cursor gets your permissions, not its own access, and there’s no shared API key.
- Writes are logged. Anything that books, changes or cancels leave goes into the same audit log as the dashboard.
- Managers can’t approve their own leave, in chat or anywhere else.
- Read the full MCP security details.
These steps follow the provider’s own documentation, and their interface can change. If a button or menu has moved, their docs below have the current version.
