Connect Recharge to Microsoft Copilot Studio
Give a Copilot Studio agent access to Recharge so it can answer leave questions and book leave for the person using it. Each person signs in with their own Recharge account.
https://www.getrecharged.co.uk/mcpSet it up
- 1
Copy your Recharge MCP server URL from the box above.
- 2
In Copilot Studio, open your agent’s Tools page, choose “Add a tool”, then “New tool”, then “Model Context Protocol”.
- 3
Fill in the server name, a short description and the server URL. Microsoft uses the description to decide when the agent should call the server, so say what it does.
Suggested description Check leave allowances, upcoming leave and public holidays, and book, change or cancel leave in Recharge. - 4
Set authentication to OAuth 2.0 and the type to “Dynamic discovery”, then select Create. Recharge supports dynamic client registration, so there are no client IDs to enter.
- 5
On the Add tool dialog choose “Create a new connection”, sign in with your Recharge account and approve access, then select “Add to agent”.
Then ask
You don’t need special syntax. Microsoft Copilot Studio works out which Recharge tool to use.
- “How many holiday days do I have left this year?”
- “Do I have any TOIL banked?”
- “Suggest some good dates for a long weekend.”
- “Book next Tuesday off for a hospital appointment.”
- “Is there a clash if I’m off the week of the 12th?”
- “What’s waiting on me to approve? (managers)”
Good to know
- It’s your account, nothing more. You sign in with your normal Recharge login and approve a consent screen. Microsoft Copilot Studio gets your permissions, not its own access, and there’s no shared API key.
- Writes are logged. Anything that books, changes or cancels leave goes into the same audit log as the dashboard.
- Managers can’t approve their own leave, in chat or anywhere else.
- Read the full MCP security details.
This is for people building agents in Copilot Studio, and needs a Copilot Studio licence in your Microsoft tenant. Microsoft notes that a Power Platform data policy that restricts connectors also restricts MCP servers, so your admin may need to allow it. These steps follow the provider’s own documentation, and their interface can change. If a button or menu has moved, their docs below have the current version.
