Connect Recharge to ChatGPT

Add Recharge to ChatGPT as a custom app and you can check your allowance, get date suggestions and book leave in a chat. It takes a few minutes and you only do it once.

Set it up

    Copy your Recharge MCP server URL from the box above.

    In ChatGPT, open Settings and choose “Security and login” from the sidebar.

    Scroll to the bottom and turn on Developer mode.

    Open “Plugins” from the ChatGPT sidebar, click the + icon at the top right and choose “Create app”.

    Click “Create MCP App”. Name it “Recharge” and paste the URL into the MCP Server URL field.

    Leave Authentication set to OAuth, tick “I understand and want to continue”, then click “Create”.

    Sign in with your Recharge account and allow access when prompted.

    Start a new chat, click + and choose Recharge, then ask something like “How many holiday days do I have left?”

You don’t need special syntax. ChatGPT works out which Recharge tool to use.

  • “How many holiday days do I have left this year?”
  • “Do I have any TOIL banked?”
  • “Suggest some good dates for a long weekend.”
  • “Book next Tuesday off for a hospital appointment.”
  • “Is there a clash if I’m off the week of the 12th?”
  • “What’s waiting on me to approve? (managers)”

Good to know

  • It’s your account, nothing more. You sign in with your normal Recharge login and approve a consent screen. ChatGPT gets your permissions, not its own access, and there’s no shared API key.
  • Writes are logged. Anything that books, changes or cancels leave goes into the same audit log as the dashboard.
  • Managers can’t approve their own leave, in chat or anywhere else.

Custom apps and Developer mode are controlled by OpenAI, and may depend on your ChatGPT plan or on a workspace admin. If you don’t see these options, check with your ChatGPT admin or in OpenAI’s help centre.
